DUBLIN, OH – At the annual leadership conference of the Ohio Certified Public Manager Society, President Irene Barnett, CPM, revealed her selection of the Certified Public Manager (CPM) of the Year Award for 2015. Criteria for this award includes exemplifying the Certified Public Manager designation in the performance of regular job duties and in extending themselves to assist other areas of government, regular application and modeling of the CPM training’s core competencies, and being of high character. “Janet has truly embraced and demonstrated the excellence in leadership that is the hallmark of being a CPM professional,” says President Barnett.

This award is the highest honor bestowed by the Ohio CPM Society and can be awarded to any CPM in federal, state, county, township, or city public service within Ohio. This year’s CPM of the Year was awarded to Janet Cool, CPM, of the state agency Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (formerly known as Rehabilitative Services Commission). Janet served as Conference Chairperson for the Ohio CPM Society which supports and mentors the DAS OCPM training program and CPMs throughout Ohio. Janet thanked Kevin Miller, Executive Director, and Therese Dyer, CPM, Chief Financial Officer, for supporting her and other CPMs in their professional development.
