OCPM Society Mission

The mission of the Ohio Certified Public Manager (CPM) Society is to further promote the interests of Certifed Publice Managers and Ohio CPM Program Students.  The Ohio CPM Society strives to make a difference by improving communication, cooperation and coordination among all government agencies on all levels.

The Ohio CPM Society strives to provide opportunities for professional growth of its members through continued education.

Ohio CPM Society Board

The Ohio CPM Society Board promotes on the part of its members a standard of behavior which demonstrates a high level of ethical responsibility in the performance of official duties.  The Ohio CPM Society Board promotes the efficiency and productivity in Ohio Government on all levels, and promotes the development of professionally trained managers.

   

President, Julianna Carvi, CPM

Julianna Carvi is a certified public manager (CPM) and a graduate from Cohort 11.  Ms. Carvi is currently working full-time on her MBA degree at Franklin University.  She also works as the Food Service Manager at the Ohio School for the Deaf where she's been employed since 1999.  Ms. Carvi is also serving as a member on the OCPM Advisory Board to maintain the support between DAS, AACPM and OCPMS programs.

President Elect, Melissa G. Roach, MSA, CPM

Melissa G. Roach is a certified public manager (CPM).  She is a graduate of the Ohio CPM program, Cohort 11, and joined the Ohio CPM Society in 2003.  Ms. Roach has a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from The Ohio State University and a Master of Science in Administration degree from Central Michigan University.  She served in the United States Army Reserves and the Ohio Army National Guard.  Ms. Roach currently works for the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation as the Manager of Records & Information Management and Business Management for the Legal Division.  She has held that management position with state government since January 1996.

In addition to serving on the Ohio CPM Society Board as President-Elect, Ms. Roach is also serving on the public relations/marketing committee for the 2008, 20th Annual AACPM Conference Committee.

Immediate Past President, Shawn Bradley, CPM

Shawn Bradley is a certified public manager (CPM). She is a graduate of the Ohio CPM program, Cohort 15, and joined the Ohio CPM Society in 2005.  Ms. Bradley is currently working on her Bachelor of Science and Management degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.  Ms. Bradley currently works for the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation as the Injury Management Supervisor for Field Operations.  She has held that management position with state government since March 2000.

In addition to serving on the OCPM Society Board, Ms. Bradley is also serving as a member on the OCPM Advisory Board to maintain the support between DAS, AACPM and OCPMS programs.

Treasurer, Roger Aber, CPM

Roger Aber is a certified public manager (CPM), a certified industrial hygienist (CIH) and a certified safety professional (CSP).  He is a graduate of the Ohio CPM program, Cohort 10, and joined the Ohio CPM Society in 2003.  Mr. Aber has a Bachelor of Science degrees in Environmental Health from Bowling Green State University and Industrial Engineering from The Ohio State University, and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Health from University of Michigan.  He currently serves in the Ohio Air National Guard.  Mr. Aber currently works for the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation as the Employer Management Supervisor for Field Operations.  He has held that management position with state government since May 1992.

In addition to serving on the OCPM Society Board, Mr. Aber is also serving on the AACPM finance committee.

Secretary, Patti Barnett, CPM 

The professional training and experience that qualifies Ms. Barnett to hold this position include a Masters in Business Administration degree in Marketing from Ohio State, and 12 years experience as the Marketing Section Manager for Ohio State Parks.  Her job duties include managing the public web site, developing and implementing promotional programs, creating and evaluating advertising.  She developed and implemented a merchandise sales program for the state parks that is still in place.

Ms Barnett has served on the OCPM Society board since it’s inception in 2000.  She currently serves on three AACPM committees, Marketing, Conference, and Newsletter.  She is deeply committed to the OCPM Society and CPM principles and values.  She would like to see more members in the Society and those members more involved in activities and Society functions.  She will actively solicit members from the pool of program participants and graduates, and promote the program and Society to the public sector.  She established a web site for the Society that provides information about the Society, the OCPM Program, and quality management and leadership principles.

 
   

Public Relations Committee Chair, Stephanie Kamer, CPM

Stephanie Kamer is a Certified Public Manager (CPM).  She was a loyal participant of cohort 11, and a graduate of cohort 13.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in both political science and public administration with a specialization in human resources management.  Ms. Kamer has been the Human Capital Management Manager at the Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ODADAS) since June 2004.  She is currently a loaned executive to the Ohio Administrative Knowledge Systems project (OAKS) as a member of the Change Management Agency Readiness Team.  Ms. Kamer has also served as a subject matter expert for OAKS release 4 training for the Department of Administrative Services.  Prior to her service at ODADAS, Ms. Kamer was at the Department of Administrative  Services since 1993, at the Office of Employee Services.  Ms. Kamer has background in every aspect of Human Resources and has also done strategic planning and succession planning for various organizations.

2008 Conference Committee Chair, Gina Mee, CPM 

 

Gina Mee is the Training Coordinator for the Office of Local Operations at the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.  She has 22 years of state service.  Her job duties are varied and included training TQM principles and Facilitations skills, conducting strategic planning sessions, succession planning, favilitating a variety of teams and workgroups, presenting to groups on teambuilding, time management, change management, etc.

She is a qualified adminsitrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.  She is an examiner for the Ohio Partnership for Excellence Organization (based on Malcolm baldrige Criteria), and a graduate of the Ohio Certified Public Manager Program.  She is currently serving as the chair for the 2008 AACPM 20th Annual Conference to be held in Columbus, Ohio.

Gina is married, and is a proud mother of two daughters (ages 14 and 16).  They are into everything from theater to volleyball.  Gina is a part-time realtor, K.J. (Karaoke Jockey), hospice volunteer and much, much more.

OCPM Program Liaison, Terina Allen

Terina Allen serves as the statewide training program manager for two of Ohio’s largest management and leadership training programs - the nationally accredited Ohio Certified Public Manager program and the Human Resources Academy within the DAS/Human Resource Division/Office of Training & Development.  In her current role, she works with middle and senior management professionals to design training programs, evaluate organizational performance, and develop effective managers and leaders.

 

Terina has worked in all levels of government and has accumulated more than 14 years of experiences with nonprofit, private sector, and government entities.  She has focused her training and education in the areas of performance accountability, public leadership, organizational development, and curriculum design. 

 

Terina has been a member of the OCPM Society Board since 2005.  Additionally, she serves as a board member to the National Certified Public Manager Consortium (NCPMC) and is the current chair for the National Performance Standards Committee.
